Bespoke Watch Strap, Regular
"Formal and Precise"
Regular (Left), Pueblo cognac, volume option / Single (right two), Pueblo cognac (Normal stitch) Rally volpe (Casual stitch)
Unlike the 'Single' type, which is made from a single piece of leather, the 'Regular' bespoke watch strap is constructed by layering three primary components: the exterior leather, the lining, and Vildona—a German-made reinforcement material that maintains the strap's shape. If you choose to add the volume option, a fourth layer is added using a TPU-based mold to create a beautiful, raised silhouette.
Crocodile Olive with Volume & Quick-release options
Each layer serves its own specific purpose, whether to establish the form or to enhance durability, ensuring that the final shape remains both beautiful and robust. Furthermore, during the assembly process, natural curves are applied to correspond with the ergonomic curvature of the wrist, ensuring superior usability of the watch strap.

Why are watch straps inevitably considered consumables?
The inherent limitations of leather watch straps.
Cracking observed on a watch strap from a professional watch brand
It is no easy feat for a leather product to reach the end of its lifespan. The "aging" process, where traces of use accumulate, is actually one of the most attractive qualities of a leather product. At Arte di mano, we actively embrace this by designing our products so that, at a certain point when the signs of use have gathered, they look even more stylish than when they were brand new.
Despite this, the most common reason why leather products eventually become unusable is the appearance of "cracking" on the surface.

To transform raw skin into leather as a material, the most critical factors are "preventing decay" and "maintaining softness." This chemical process is known as tanning. Briefly explained, tanning involves altering the protein structure, removing decaying fats, and re-injecting non-decaying oils to restore softness. In this process, the most frequently used element is "water."
When moisture comes into contact with leather, it pushes out the internal oils, causing the leather to "harden." While this characteristic is often utilized intentionally in leather molding, repeatedly bending hardened leather will eventually lead to cracks. This marks the end of the leather's lifespan. In this regard, watch straps cannot be free from moisture and salt caused by sweat, or water encountered while washing hands. Repeated contact with moisture leads to hardening, and the use of a pin buckle forces a specific area to be pulled and bent repeatedly. Ultimately, a watch strap inherently possesses the characteristics of a consumable item.
Arte di mano’s watch straps begin their journey from an understanding of these leather characteristics.
"What if it is more resistant to hardening"
"What if it is strong against moisture?"
"What if we reduce the stress of repeated bending?"
We designed our watch straps with the hope that our creations, made with heart and the finest materials, will remain stylish and be used for a longer period. Through these considerations, we have been able to present straps with a more reasonable recipe that can be used from 1.5 times to several times longer than standard options.
.
Zermatt (HAAS, France) Lining for Minimum Skin Irritation

Zermatt is a leather from a French tannery renowned for supplying the luxury brand 'H'. Made from calfskin under six months old, Zermatt offers a soft, silky touch that can be distinguished just by feeling it. This softness alone helps prevent hardening, and with the addition of a water-repellent coating and allergy care—applied without compromising the leather's natural qualities—it significantly reduces hardening caused by moisture and sweat.
Essentially, these characteristics are highly suitable for a leather product that comes into direct contact with the skin. Perhaps for this reason, the linings of watch straps or bracelets from certain French luxury houses are made with Zermatt. We use Zermatt as our basic lining leather because we have understood, through long-term testing, that its superior inherent qualities enhance the wearing comfort and durability of the watch strap.
Simply by choosing an appropriate lining material, we have been able to extend the lifespan of our leather products by 1.5 times or more.
.
Traditional hand-sewing, Saddle Stitching

Saddle stitching is a hand-sewing technique derived from a specialized two-handed method used in medieval Europe to make equestrian gear exceptionally robust.
Unlike machine stitching, where the top and bottom threads are separate and interlocked in the middle, saddle stitching ensures that even if one stitch breaks, it has minimal impact on the adjacent stitches. Furthermore, a skilled crafter's stitching can maintain consistent tension regardless of thickness or structure, offering superior durability. Visually, the elegant slanted stitches provide an excellent aesthetic.
However, since this is a considerably time-consuming process, even French 'H' house straps or other luxury watch brands typically use machine stitching, using hand-stitching only for the finishing touches. Arte di mano has produced all of its camera cases using only saddle stitching for 20 years. In the case of watch straps, which are smaller items, we use an even finer stitch spacing—around 2mm—to conduct dense hand-sewing. This is a symbolic commitment to manual craftsmanship and durability that stands in contrast to mass production.
.
316L Stainless Steel Hardware used in Medical Devices

The metal components such as spring bars and buckles used in our bespoke watch straps are primarily crafted from 316L grade stainless steel. 316L, which is mainly used in dental medical equipment, is dozens of times more expensive than general steel components and 5 to 10 times more expensive than standard stainless steel. The 316L grade possesses excellent corrosion resistance against moisture and salt, and the 'L' denotes low carbon, which generally signifies superior properties.

As these parts come into direct contact with the skin, we have opted for higher-grade metals. Through our many years of work, we clearly understand the value created by the combination of these subtle differences in the final result.
.
Signature Edge Coat Finish

Cutting leather inevitably creates a raw edge, and for any carefully made product, this cross-section must be treated in some way. However, the difference in these treatment methods causes a stark contrast in workload and time. Therefore, for a brand or an artisan, it is a critical choice that goes beyond simple preference—it is a powerful element that reveals the pursuit of quality standards and technical superiority.
Basically, the edge coat method, which involves applying finishing material, is among the most premium methods as it includes drying times. For this reason, many brands and factories either avoid creating a raw edge altogether or use high-viscosity materials to finish the edge with a large amount in few applications. While it is possible to create a clean surface this way, the problem arises with use. Thick layers of finish tend to crack or peel off entirely over time.

However, Arte di mano designs its recipes by considering the product's state after use, ensuring it remains most stylish when the leather is appropriately aged.
Using a very thin, low-viscosity finishing material imported exclusively from Italy, we do not simply apply it; we combine various post-treatment recipes such as burnishing, sanding, coating, and heat treatment at each stage. Including the coating alone, the material is applied over 10 times, and with post-treatment, it undergoes more than 20 processes to stack very thin layers with high adhesion.
Through these processes, we have created a finishing surface that does not peel off as a whole but ages naturally alongside the beautiful surface aging of the leather.
Additionally, we provide edge care services throughout the product's lifespan. If you send your product to us after enjoying its aging process, we can restore the finishing surface through our care service.

Selection Options
We offer a wide range of options available for watch straps.
1. Quick-Release Spring Bar (316L stainless)
Additional Cost: USD 30.00

The quick-release spring bar is a very safe and easy option for strap replacement that minimizes damage to the lugs. Replacing a strap usually requires dedicated tools, and even with those, it is easy to leave marks on the watch.

However, with quick-release spring bars, you can easily swap straps by simply pulling a lever. We strongly recommend this if you use two or more straps or bracelets to match different moods or purposes.

.
2. Volume Addition
Additional Cost - 1.5mm : USD 30.00 / 2.0mm : USD 50.00

Crocodile Olive, 1.5mm volume option
Among various forms of volume, Arte di mano pursues a natural and elegant volume that remains seamless from any direction. Having carved various grips for Leica cameras for a long time, we already have firm standards for the beautiful volume that emerges when reinforcement material is integrated within the leather.

Pueblo cognac, 1.5mm 볼륨 옵션 적용
This option considers the classic and dressy harmony of the watch itself through sculptural beauty, rather than just increasing height.

In addition, the texture of the surface is very soft and moist due to the sufficiently absorbed wax and oil content. This is another kind of texture that can be found in the hybrid type, which is different from the vegetable type. Like Bridle, when not used often, the wax component inside the leather cuts off the surface to form a white powdery film, and when used again, the wax component melts again and penetrates to restore the original surface texture. SHELL CORDOVAN TOSCANA
(Vegetable tanned, Italy - Rocado s.r.l)
Extra cost : USD 100.00
Finish - Glazed, aniline dyed
Cordovan is leather near the horse's buttocks, and by extracting the glossy layer located inside the leather, it is produced as cordovan leather with extremely dense tissue. Or it's called a shell cordovan. The structure of the shell has a density corresponding to the dermal layer called the silver surface or surface of leather. In cowhide, the thickness of the dermal layer is usually considered to be around 0.2-0.5 mm, whereas most of the shell layers produced in cordovan have a thickness of 1 mm or more. Corresponding to the dermal layer, it is a very special leather with strong surface resilience along with the firmness of the tissue itself. It has a very rare value as only two small oval cordovan pieces can be produced from a single horse hide.
Italian Shell Cordovan is vegetable tanning made of 100% natural raw materials for a total of 6 months using the finest raw hides from Germany and Poland, and translucent dyeing and glazing using Aniline. It boasts the highest quality with the most diverse color lineup among cordovan, which is finished with a sophisticated finish using the surface gloss used and Italian technology accumulated.
The Italian Shell Cordovan, which forms a thick mania mainly in the production of shoes and accessories, is used not only by established manufacturers but also by young and trendy brands such as Tanner goods in the United States. It is very popular with creators all over the world.
Cordovan is a leather that needs care, and if you regularly manage it with a cream manufactured by the Cordovan manufacturer, which is sold together, or a cream that matches well with the creams on the market, you can always use it in a good surface condition.
* For ease of care, we recommend stitching similar to the leather's color.
* Due to the nature of cordovan, there may be differences in tone in the connected parts, and in the case of two-tone leather such as marbled, the differences in tone may be more noticeable.
.

ROCADO SHELL CORDOVAN
(Vegetable tanned, Italy - ROCADO S.R.L)
Extra cost : USD 100.00

Adhering to the slogan "Open Tannery," Rocado s.r.l. is a rare tannery that actively pursues new endeavors and technological developments, while maintaining a youthful spirit and adhering to eco-friendly, traditional processes.
Shell Cordovan Toscana Italia, a cordovan brand originally introduced in Korea as "Italian Shell Cordovan," was once a partner of the company. However, after the company split, the company now maintains the original tannery name, ROCADO, and introduces high-quality cordovan with the rich glazing we're familiar with, along with experimental new articles.
In addition to the original Classic, the company offers Marbled with a natural marbling color, Museum with a more natural and uniform two-tone, and Fingerprint with a fingerprint-like pattern.
The company excels at bringing out the natural luster of cordovan through the glazing process, creating a captivating collection of cordovan. This high-quality leather, sourced from a highly reliable tannery, boasts the smoothest surface quality and a stable, natural dyeing process, making it one of the world's finest cordovan leathers.
* For ease of care, we recommend stitching similar to the leather's color.
* Due to the nature of cordovan, there may be differences in tone in the connected parts, and in the case of two-tone leather such as marbled, the differences in tone may be more noticeable.

Crocodile leather
(Nile crocodile, Singapore - Henglong)
Extra cost : Head & tail - USD 160.00 / Belly - USD 200.00
Finish - Matt type, Belly (back cut)
Henglong, a Singapore-based company owned by LVMH, the parent company of Louis Vuitton, is a world-class crocodile skin tannery that produces high-quality crocodile skins. Crocodile leather is superior to other types of leather such as cowhide in terms of durability because it has excellent surface stiffness in addition to its unique texture and unique pattern.
Nile crocodile is regarded as the highest quality crocodile hide along with Porosus, a saltwater crocodile, and the Alligator, which lives mainly in the United States.
In the case of a glossy-type crocodile, its luster disappears when it is not taken care of while using it, whereas a matte-type crocodile leather has the attractiveness of natural light coming up nicely while using it and aging over time. Like cowhide, matte type leather has less surface treatment compared to glossy type, so it has no choice but to use raw hide with less scarring, and it is traded at a higher price than glossy crocodile at the same grade/size.
If you see the work of Arte di mano, which combines the finest crocodile leather manufactured by Henglong and the refined Arte di mano craftsmanship recognized in the world market, you are sure that you will no longer be able to find materials and quality beyond that.

4. D-Buckle Addition (Only for 18mm buckle size)
